Following along God's perfect path...

It seems an eternity since we have updated this blog.... and in a way, that is quite true. It is hard to believe that six months have already gone by since our last post. It is a reminder to us that life is out of our control, but completely in God's hands. God has a beautiful (although not always easy) path for our family, and we are thankful to be following His designated path.

We mentioned in our last blog how the path seemed somewhat straight. Well, there have been a few twists and turns along the way, but God has remained faithful and been there at every turn right by our side. We have still had the opportunity to be with several different congregations in the past six months (in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Tennessee). We are thankful that God has chosen some of those churches to partner with us, as we continue toward the goal of going to Mauritius. God has been very good to us in the past few months in regards to our support level. We now have a little over 91 % of our support. We are planning to leave for Mauritius in February of 2013.

We are also thankful for the opportunity that we have to help a church in our community with their missions program. When we are in town, we attend regularly at this church, and are very thankful for the relationship we are building with the church people. We have enjoyed being able to go into the office and work there some, and get to know the staff better as well. It is a blessing to serve the Lord in this way.

As many of you already know, some of the biggest news of the past six months is that we are expecting a child for the end of October. The pregnancy has been a very good one. I am very thankful that I have not felt really bad at any point yet, and that the baby seems to be very healthy. We have decided to not find out if it is a boy or a girl, so that we can prolong the anticipation... We would appreciate your prayers that all would continue to go well with the pregnancy. Pray that God would continue to prepare our hearts to be godly parents, and that we would be teachable through the many lessons that are sure to come.

Please be praying with us as we make preparations to leave for Mauritius early next year as well. There are many things still to be done. We have some support to raise, we have some paperwork to get done, and we need to buy plane tickets once the baby is here. Moreover, we need to decide what is most valuable to us, and what we would want to ship, and many other details. We trust the Lord with all these things, and know that He will help us every step of the way.
